1. Bunny
In this movie clip there was and elderly Bunny that was trying to get rid of death that happened to be in the form of a moth flying around chaotically. The bunny would try and kill the moth and put it outside, however like death it still lingered around. After finally cooking the moth it turns the oven into another portal to the after life. At this point in time it is the Bunny's time to go to the after life with her late husband. Since the time of day for this clip was set at night it was the perfect time for the bunny to go to the after life and be a peaceful time to leave this life.
2. Northfork
The clips shown in this movie was the distinction between nature and humans. The first clip showed how the boy was running free while the bison were penned up. The buffalo were not willing to movie much, however the boy was wanting to leave as quickly as possible. The next two clips were about the burdens that people faced in this movie. The son and father team that were leaving the put the mother in a higher place, had the mountains in the background. These mountains symbolized the freedom of the burden that they were carrying throughout the whole movie. The filmmaker picked Bison in this movie to help portray what the humans were doing to nature with both the animals and the town. Both were going to be extinct very soon.
3. Paris Texas
Many of these clips showed means of communication throughout the country. The highway, power lines, and the railroad were all means that Travis the main character was going to reconnect to his family. Travis always had that straight line that he was following during the movie. While in the dessert he follows the power lines even though that is diagonal in the dessert. Later on he follows the road and the rail roads to his final destination. These means of communication as foreshadow the event when he finds his ex-wife and talks to her on the telephone, since when he first finds her that is all they do is talk about things that were not said before. In a later clip Travis is walking across a very long freeway, as he is walking you hear a preacher that is talking immediately the audience thinks this guy is crazy and so does Travis. However, the audience also thinks that Travis is crazy, which means that crazy is relative.
4. Pink Floyd's The Wall
Since he was raised only by his mom and she saw him as a failure because he wanted to be in the arts instead of the sciences, he saw all females as evil. Later on in the clips you also see the school teacher as evil because the teacher did not condone him going to be a an artist. The hammer in many of the clips show him breaking out from the issues he has and exposing what is really going on in his life. In the school scene he wants to rebel and be different than everybody else that is going through with him. His crazy dreams have to do with the hurt he experienced with the people he was not able to connect with in his life time, epically his wife who went and found somebody that would connect with her.
5. Cabeza de Baca
The clips that were shown here were about battles, and a priest. These scenes did not make a lot of sense to me because I was not able to understand what was being said. Many times there was a cross which represented power with the person wearing it on their neck. The lizard who was trying to get away was only going around in a circle because that is as far as he could travel. The circle that was made by the lizard represented the world and how the Shaman was trying to get out of the Native American world and back to his own world. Finally the Shaman takes aprt in the rituals of this world that he was forced to be a part of.
