Sports fandom in America is something that has almost a cult like following. All across the nation, people follow teams like it is life or death for no reason better than they live near the team, or their family watches the team, or their favorite player plays on the team. No matter what the reason is fans have a unique and special bond that is not easy to understand. When I think about it, it is almost like the "force" It is an invisible intangible thing that keeps people together. Is their religion in sports? I would say yes, people follow it religiously. Whatever the reason people follow it, I think sports are a great way to keep people focused on something bigger than themselves, which is never a bad thing.
