Kevin Dessimoz - External Reading 4

The novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, is about a scientist, Dr. Frankenstein, who tries to create life. The monster he creates ends up making Frankenstein's life miserable. The monster kills his brother, and new wife, among others. The monster wanted a companion since no human would accept him, but Dr. Frankenstein after initially agreeing, refuses. Eventually, Frankenstein and the monster have a showdown and Frankenstein is killed. I believe that the story Frankenstein is a motif that God is the only creator, and that is why Dr. Frankenstein is punished for attempting to be God and creating life.
