Joshua Booth- History of God

In the book History of God by Karen Armstrong, she claims that “there is no objective new of God: each generation has to create the image of God that works for it.” This has proven to be true over the course of time. There have been many religions created since the first one was established. Every so often there is a new found religion that is exposed to the world and some people like the ideas of it so they go with it. The God’s were first originated to explain the curiosities of the unknown and unseen. God’s have transformed from humanlike features to living in castles like regular people would have done. As time has gone on there are more and more creations of gods. I think that the only thing consistent with God’s is change. God’s were formulated a long time ago to help an individual gain power. Armstrong says, “Creating gods is something that human beings have always done.” If you really think about it how a god could be created without the aid of humans to tell others about it. With the help of modern technology we are now revealing the unseen. Science has the power to extract the actually facts of something and provide to us all the true answers that we can actually believe in. This new science that continues to improve is actually going to move certain individuals away from their certain faiths, beliefs, and ideas. On the other hand their will also be the others to will stand by their beliefs because they were taught that and they are completely entitled to that.
