Vincent Farino World religion
I have been thinking about other religions and how they compare with Christianity. Religions such as Buddhism. Buddhism is commonly thought of as a way of looking at the world, seen through three characteristics manifested through reality. These are constant change, a lack of permanent identity, and the existence of suffering. Through understanding these marks of reality comes ultimately inner peace and even joy (Molloy 126). From the foundation of these views come the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path. The steps included in these guidelines are thought to lead toward liberation from the “impermanence” and suffering of reality. The steps are perceived as practical guidelines in ones physical life, but if followed they will lead to the ultimate spiritual goal of Buddhism – Nirvana. Nirvana is perceived as inner peace and liberation from the limitations of the world, which will lead to the end of suffering (Molloy 135). Once a person has reached nirvana the series of rebirth is finished and enters the spiritual realm sometimes simply viewed as paradise. I believe that although I do not agree with the different gods that they may serve, or the different views on life, I do agree with the fact that most of the world religions such as Buddhism are based on love and treating people with respect. I believe that God would like his creation to follow Him, but as seen with Buddhism there are many different views that have developed through the existence of the world.
