Brian O'Connor--Random Post #3--This Weekend in the EPL
I'm a big follower of the English Premier League. It's soccer for those that do not know. I'm just going to start with Glory, Glory Man United! Now this past weekend there were soem great events in the matches that were played. All match results were crucial in the realm of the title race. With a great 93rd minute header from Paul Scholes, Manchester United beat Manchester City 1-0 in the Manchester Derby. A derby is a match played by two teams of the same city. It gave the leaders at the club a great reason for re-signing Scholes to a new contract. In a London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham, it was Tottenham finishing on top off of two great goals beating the league leaders Chelsea 2-1. Frank Lampard got the consolation goal for Chelsea in the closing minutes of the match. Arsenal lost their game to Wigan 3-2 after being ahead 2-0. All these games were crucial. Chelsea needed to win to stay 4 points clear of Man U at the top of the table. Seen as they lost and my boys won, Chelsea is just 1 point ahead of the Red Devils at the top of the table. If Arsenal wanted to stay in the title race and in a close third, they needed to win; but unfortunately they dropped points, and hopes of some silverware this season.
