Daniel Gordon - Student Choice Blog #2 Light

I recently stayed up the entire night writing a paper for one of my classes. It sucked, except the beauty of watching the sunrise through my window. My window faces East, so this was a wonderful opportunity in that respect. It got me thinking about the oppositions of good and evil in the films we have watched in class this year, and some I have watched out of class, and how light always represents the good, and how easily it obliterates the darkness. Sometimes in film, however, the darkness is pictured sweeping in and overtaking the small light sources, i.e. a wind snuffs out a candle, or a light bulb flickers out. in the end, however, the sun will rise again, and darkness flees. One of the most beautiful examples of light in film we saw was the short film Bunny with the fireflies and the heavenly aura as the bunny entered the afterlife.
