Emily Walker: Sacred Femininity

1. I read a book this semester called Sacred Femininity. It was a book about how the Christian women of today have settles for a mediocre form of heroic womanhood. It talks about how girls grow up being concerned about things such as social standing, clothing, and attracting boys. The book suggests that this type of culture is a far cry from the way that Christian woman were designed to be. The book outlines the way that the author thinks that a Christian woman should act and conduct herself. The book sights such women as Amy Carmichael and Gladys Aylward who risked their lives serving others. This book encouraged young woman to live in sacred time pursuing things that will make a difference in the world instead of spending their lives on frivolous and profane pleasures.
