Interpersonal Divide (Reading #3)

In the book, Interpersonal Divide: the Search for Community in a Technological Age, another point that Bugeja talks about is the blurring of lines between home and work. This is because of the introduction of Blackberries and computers being able to get work e-mails at home. I know growing up, my Dad was in the Marines and he would get calls about different things over the weekends and stuff like that. I remember times where he would be on the phone, his beeper going off on his hip, and the blackberry would be buzzing with emails. It just shows how the lines between work and home have been blurred. The amount of time that Americans spend on leisure a month has gone down because of the ability to do work while at home. People need to put all the work stuff down when they are at home and enjoy some peace and relaxation.
