Although dreading to go see this movie I actually really enjoyed it. I never was a big Alice and Wonderland fan as a kid because it truly scared me. I was a believer as a child and always would view things in movies as being true and something like falling in a hole and meeting a talking rabbit creeped me out. I'm not a big Johnny Depp fan at all, but for some reason love him when he plays these out of the ordinary roles like in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
In this movie, Alice has returned back to Wonderland and is at first unaware that she has been there before. Although unaware, the Mad Hatter and others take her in because they are aware that she is the true Alice. After Alice learns of the task she is to take on killing the jabbawockeez(sp?) she thinks the people of Wonderland are crazy. However, when Alice has no faith in herself, the people around her do. This kind of ties into the reading that you can't see faith but you must feel it. When Alice realizes the amount of good that would come out of killing the jabbawockeez for the white witch, she takes it upon herself to do it.
I also agree with the distinction between the white and red as in heaven and hell. Everything just seems to be better on the white side. The queen is prettier, the people are nicer, the colors are more calm and welcome. While on the red side the queen is ugly, the one guy has an eye patch, the supporters are just scary. It is obvious that the white side seems to be the better side of the two.
Overall I do think this is a fun movie and would reccomend it.
