Andrew Deitrick: Decalogue

This short film was easy to follow and pretty straightforward. When the child falls through the ice, reflection is paid back to when the child and father talked about the safety of the ice. Their formula supported the ice, quite literally, but failed to hold up in the end. Because of this, we are forced to question the value we place on technology and equations. It is easy to get caught up in the numbers and simplicity of technology, and in this case, it ultimately caused the child's death. The title, "No other Gods before me" leads me to believe the technology was replacing God in the story.
