14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
This passage is about the armor of God, and as I read it today, I was reminded of many of the movies we have watched in 326 this year. We have watched several movies with scenes of war in them and although, with the exception of The Seventh Seal, the soldiers in these films do not wear armor like this, they do wear helmets. The head is really vital to protect; so much so that it is the only piece of real armor we sent every soldier today into battle with. In the Bible, the Helmet represents salvation, which is the key to protection for the head of the believer , which is vital to protect against the attacks of Satan.
