Miscellaneous Blog Topic V : Mary Kate Curry
Typically, kids would much rather be doing anything other than work. Despite my massive amount of schoolwork and extracurricular responsibilities, working has actually made me calmer and more put together. There is something to be said for being handed a list and being able to accomplish and simply cross things off a list. No writing second or third drafts; no further research necessary, just plain and simple task accomplishment. Even though the tasks I might be assigned have the ability to be utterly mind-numbing, I almost prefer that to anything challenging. Schoolwork as of late has drained me; and very few things have I been able to sit down and do; school work has required little pieces done each day that tie slowly (and seemingly incomprehensibly) into the big picture. There is something reassuring and relaxing about being able to get short-term goals completed.
