Sean Burns- The Thin Red Line

This movie shows how the horrors and extremes of war bring troops together and create bonds between them. These bonds are so strong that Private Witt sacrifices himself as a decoy so that his comrades can escape. After finding his body, C Company buries him and is taken over by a new commanding officer. The bonds that are established during times of war within companies compare to those within a family. Each member is irreplaceable and invaluable to the success of the group. Witt's sacrifice shows his unselfish love and care for the men in his company and his burial represents the soldier's code "I will not leave a fallen comrade behind." They keep him in their spirits and continue on in memory of him.
