Emily Walker: Alice in Wonderland

1. Alice in Wonderland was a movie full of fantasy. It was definitely a new experience for me because I had never seen the cartoon movie or read the book. My first reaction to the movie was that I did not like it. I thought it was strange and that the character the mad hatter was over the top. After I had had a few days to mull the movie over I started to like it more. I enjoyed the classic idea of a struggle between good and evil. The white queen representing good and the Red Queen representing evil. I also saw many similarities between this movie and Big Fish. Both movies had a land of fantasy in them. Alice’s life was not as she wanted it to be, and then she was transported into a new land. The new land allowed her to step up and learn that she was strong enough to handle her real life. I also liked Alice in Wonderland because it really captured the audience’s attention and the characters were larger than life.
