Emily Walker: Northfork
Northfork was an interesting movie about a town that was evacuated to make way for a hydro-electric dam. I really enjoyed the character Father Harlan. His character was interesting because he was a man of God but he fought for a town that he cared about. He looked after a dying boy and protected him from people that were not good for him. He had an interesting personality that combined grace and holiness with craftiness and ingenuity. I think that this combination of characteristics would make a great pastor in everyday life as well! The angels in the movie were very intriguing to me. They seemed very cold and distant, very much not what I would imagine angels to be like. There seemed incredibly set on finding the missing family member. I was a little big confused about the wings that the evacuation helpers gave to the families. I understand the symbolism but I don’t understand how they related to the little boy’s wings that

eventually convinced the angels that he was one of them. He gave them one set of wings but they were not right, but then he got a different pair. I thought it was a really neat plot ending when the little boy died and then he got to go with the angels to heaven where he would no longer be sick and where he would have a family to love him.
