Emily Walker: Colossians 3

One of my favorite Biblical passages that I have read this semester is Colossians 3. It is a very challenging passage to me. It outlines some rules for Christian living. It encourages the reader to set their mind on the things of heaven instead of on the things of earth. This reminded me of our discussion on sacred versus profane things. It also encourages the reader to live with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. I think that these are important characteristics to have. It also talks about forgiveness and its importance. It explains that the reason Christians must forgive is because Christ has forgiven them. It concludes with encouraging the reader to let the peace of Christ dwell in them.
