Eric Saxon - Violence in Religion
As many of us know, much violence has been caused over religion. The crusades, the spanish inquisition, and the violence in Ireland have all been caused in part by religion. However, whoever commits violence in the name of religion is a hypocrit. The ten commandments state that "thou shall not kill." Even though these people thought they were killing in the name of Christianity, they were not following the way of God at all. God would never advocate killing someone just because of their religion. God would preach accepting others for their beliefs and not discriminating against them. The violence has caused many people to steer away from religion. However, the true believers who live by the bible would never committ murder or hurt their fellow man. This shows that not every person in the world is good. All one can do is help his fellow man and try to be the best person that he or she can be.
