Interpersonal Divide (Reading #4)

In Interpersonal Divide: the Search for Community in the Technological Age, Bugeja talks about how people put themselves in front of a screen when they are not with people. As humans, we are social beings and need that interpersonal interaction with others. The screens that he is talking about is a television, computer, or cell phone screen. I found this point to be very true! I find it interesting when just looking at my own siblings. When my brother is not out playing with friends, he plops down in front of the television. When my sister is not at school or work, she is normally on her computer doing random things. I know that when I am on my own, I either put on a movie, text people to see what they are up to, or sit on my computer to play a game. If you walk down the halls of the college dorm, you can normally find people together around a screen of some kind either playing games or watching television.
