The Skulls: Lindsay Conrad

I am doing my big paper on The Skulls. To give a little bit of background, the movie is about a secret society that has gone wrong. Luke is a hardworking boy who has paid his way through college, is a star on the crew team, and works at the college diner. He gets great grades and pines for a girl who seems to be just out of reach. He has been working to be in the society so that he won't have to work so hard to pay for law school after undergrad. His friend and soon to be girlfriend try to convince him that anything that is elite and secret is no good, but he fails to believe them. Will, his best friend, is trying to write an expose on the society and ends up getting killed via an accident and teh wrong people showing up to help. Luke is then accused of killing his best friend and must find justice for himself and Will as he battles within the game of the society.
The movie is a play on what is sacred and what is profane. There is a plethora of rituals and items that are considered sacred to the society, but I'm sure they are profane to the world. As I watched the film I sought out moments that paralleled the Bible or anything in scripture and found a number of stories of unlikely heroes. I easily compared him to Gideon and Samson. I also looked at the value of friendships and the comparison of the Ten Commandments to the sacred book of order.
The movie is a thrilling watch, but also serves the purpose of drawing the sacred out of the profane. Enjoy!
